Subliming Sensations • Whitney's Wine Glasses

Proud to announce that I've been invited by the President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America (www.hdsa.org/nj) to speak at their February board meeting about the auction.  Very excited to have the opportunity and the recognition!  I'd also like to thank HDSA NJ for their support and hard work behind the "scenes", none of this would be possible without them.

Progress for the auction has been going well!  We're refocusing our efforts from donations to awareness now that the event date is getting closer.  BUT, that hasn't stopped people from offering to donate.  Here's a highlight of our newest donors:

  • JD Gourmet- "Eat well, Enjoy life" Selling homemade oils, vinegars, marinades, grill sauces, and more!  Family owned and operated (we love that)
  • Petals n'Pine and Precious Things- Silks and dry florals, unique wooden accents and more.  Petals n'Pine is also opening a physical location on Main St. in Hackettstown and is looking for local artisans and crafters to help fill the space.  Contact them for details! 
  • J Martin Design- Artistic Problem Solving.  He definitely thinks out side of the "wooden" box which really makes his work unique!

Let's start this post off by saying that the devastation of "Superstorm" Sandy has affected each and everyone of us, one way or another, and will forever leave it's mark in our hearts.  We vacation at OCBNJ, where do you go to the Shore?

Available at the auction will be a custom series from the Sandy Aerial Photos collection.

With holiday shopping in full gear, we're all trying to find that perfect gift for everyone on our lists.  But sometimes the perfect gift isn't an item you can pick off the shelf at your local mall.  What about that special someone who deserves a little pampering? Or, those friends who are foodies and love to try new places?  Or, that person on the list who's just impossible to shop for?  Check out this list of donors who will be donating gift certificates to the auction. Byeburn Farm & Craft Show Weekend

First and foremost, I would like to introduce you to our newest auction donor:

 • Trinity Bakers- Cakes ~ Cake Pops ~ Cookies ~ Cupcakes ~ Party Favors ~ Chocolate Pops.  I also had the pleasure of meeting Grace at JDM, and got to sample some pumpkin and chocolate chip cookies. She will be donating a "baked goods" basket.  Yum!

• Dear Little Red House (Mary Carroll Photography)- Mary was generous to offer a framed canvas landscape AND possibly a free session with print credit!  I LOVE her black and white floral shots.  Which one is your favorite?

 • Inspired Gifts 4 U- Cindy offered to donate a basket of a wrap along with a few organic soaps.  Take a look at her shop for other handmade items!

• bettina's treehouse- Mixed Media Art, Collage Art, Whimsical Art.  Check out her Caribbean Sunset piece, makes me wish it was summer already.

 • Lisa Roll Pottery- Stoneware pieces thrown on the wheel or earthenware pieces made from slip and poured into a mold.  Her stoneware, monogrammed wine chiller would make a great present any time of the year!

Where else but our auction could you find a collection of work by so many local, hardworking artisans and entrepreneurs?  Well here are two of our newest donors!  They both do amazing work, please take the time to check our their stores and let them know that A4A has sent you.


But that's not all... sometimes we need a break, and let someone else make dinner, right?  Well luckily we'll have a gift certificate donated by Pasta Grill by Enzo! If you haven't been, there's a menu available online.
